P.E. Kit
Lessons
Mr Wilkinson is our PE lead and he organises a range of out of school activities and events. Our children are given a varied and balanced physical curriculum at all stages, given the limitations of our building. Through gymnastics, dance, athletics, games and swimming they are helped to develop the skills that will assist them to realise their potential physical ability and to take full advantage of this, both as individuals and as part of a team/group.
All children in years 4 & 5 receive weekly swimming instruction at Daventry Leisure Centre for part of the year.
Children may have opportunities to compete in football, netball, cross-country, TAG rugby, Kwik cricket and rounders tournaments against other schools. Our school Sports Day, held in the village playing field, offers all children the opportunity to participate in a wide range of races.
Kit required
Every child should have a full P.E. kit made up of:
- Jumper/hoodie
- Tracksuit bottoms
- T-shirt
- Shorts (no pockets or fastenings)
- Socks
- Trainers/plimsolls
All PE kit items should be separate from those worn to school on those days and are usually left in school for a few weeks at a time, or until they need washing. Children will not be allowed to participate if PE is incorrect/incomplete. Unless the weather is awful, PE takes place outside so suitable clothing is needed.
When children begin swimming they will be expected to have:
- Swimming costume
- Swimming hat
- Goggles
- Towel
All clothing worn to school should be clearly labelled. Don't forget things that may be worn only occasionally.
